Gals. Let's do it. Disney for Spring 2012. We can have a ball! Jackie, tell your parents we love them dearly and let's get a head count going. The Orlando location is primo and makes it easy for us all. I will drive up and can bring the goodies we all need or want to make this more fun so start your wish lists for what will make your stay more enjoyable. Like champagne!
Can't wait. I say that late April or anytime in May is best because the weather is better and the kids aren't out of school yet.
I am so psyched! I will be praying for the days to pass quickly and smoothly for us all until we can meet IN PERSON! Wow how cool is this?!
Just leaving you with a fun thought... I have a houseguest who vacuumed for me today while I was out working. She didn't want me to get strangled by my pearls! Great that my idiocyncratic behaviors work to my advantage!
Love you all and cannot wait until Spring 2012! -
Ok - here is my new pic. Better look quick because I'm not sure how long I'll leave it up. I am slowly getting used to my short hair - but I still find myself staring when I see myself in the mirror!
LOL Joan! I did not even connect the changing of our avatars to your post! But don't you worry - you are fine with all of us.
-
Sherry I love the new look! Nice!
Ok I am going to tell my folks we are in for Bonnet Creek in the Spring 2012. We can firm up a head count and a month in the next few weeks. I would recommend April (say mid to late). We will have a blast!
Bon - you have to bring your pearls! Its a must!!!!
I am off to NJ for the week so don't know how much I will get to check in but want you to know I couldn't get through this without you. So hugs!!!
-
Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, omgosh, i lost internet again!! they cant seem to find my problem,
i have at&t for my high speed, that is all i can get out here where i live but, im only 3 miles from town, i dont get it! we always lose our cable too... anyway,im here and i soooooo miss u all!! so much to tell, all is well with me.... im gonna go back and read cause i have 4 pages to catch up on, ill post more later, i wanna see how you all r doing, i pray all is well.. be back in awhile, oh sherry, i love your pic!!!!
love you all bunches!!!
-
ok im reading backwards, before i go finish catching up, i dont care where we go, im just excited to see you all!!! heck i think we could all stay in the most boring place in the world and we would have a blast!!!
plus it would be a new place that we never have been!! hehehe. im just thankful to be able to see u all, what a blessing!!! ok back to catching up,
-
jackie- Let's do it! Count me in for Disney April of 2012!! I'm getting excited already.
sherry- Your short hair looks great, very Jamie Lee Curtis. It's your smile that shines through, hair or no hair.
cheyenna- There you are! Glad your were MIA due to internet nonsense, nothing more.
I was thinking how perfect it is that pearls are becoming our signature dress code (thanks to Bon's vacuuming shenanigans). A pearl is so hard, you can't crush it. They are luminous and actually change their color and sheen, never stay the same. They actually get better and more beautiful with wear (that's why you keep them in a glove that has been worn next to the skin). Well, ladies, we "pearls" can qualify for some serious wear and tear after this year! I certainly feel honored to know all of you "pearls".Hey that rhymes! "The Pearl Girls". Uh oh, I see tee shirts coming!
-
CHEY {{{HUGS}}} I have been wondering about you! How frustrating losing your Internet. Doesn't AT&T know that Internet is your lifeline to us right now?
I am so getting excited about getting together next Spring. Maybe my husband will let me use our tax refund next year to get there. We are using our refund this year to pay medical bills. I have never felt so connected and close to people I have never met. Meeting you in person will be a heavenly experience. Mom is right. We are all pearls.
This is my third day on prednisone and my second day of taking the correct dose! I am feeling so much better that I'm going to go to Walmart and buy groceries all by myself. Husband is skydiving today and we need food. I think I can do it. Haven't been to Walmart alone in months - probably since the first of October!
-
just a quick note to say that Sherry - you look great with short hair!! i'll post a new pic of me soon too. i'm actually going to try to go to the hairdresser next week - i don't know what to do with my hair and i think it needs tidying up a bit. i've never had short hair in my life and i just don't know what to do with it!
i'm healing ok from the surgery - feel like i was mugged in a dark alley and they kicked my stomach, but otherwise i'm ok, and much better than i expected!
-
Oh, Latte! I hope your pain is short-lived and that you start feeling better soon. Love you!
-
I am back from Walmart! I did okay - it took me a while but I managed to fill my buggy full of mostly food. We were out of some toiletry staples so that was about 1/3 of the purchase. I haven't been to the store in so long I was shocked at the prices of EVERYTHING! Forevermore, things were at least 50 cents to a dollar higher and more on dairy products. I paid almost twice as much and got the same amount as I used to.
I was fairly tired by the time I got home, so I had my son unload the back of the SUV for me. After I put everything away, I made a chocolate cream pie and have chicken marinating for Thai chicken. I am resting in my chair for a while before I tackle the chicken. Then I will be done up for the rest of the evening. But at least my tummy will be full of good eating!
-
Sherry what time should we be there for dinner!!!
-
sherry- You rock! Wow! Shopping, cooking AND letting your DH skydive! I don't know how you can do it! Isn't it the truth about prices? They say food prices haven't risen this fast in 40 years.
latte- So glad you seem to be weathering your surgery.
-
Latte glad to hear from you ! I'm so sorry you are in pain. Ugh ! Do they say how long you'll feel like you were mugged ?
Sherry- I love your picture and had planned to post a new one of me but I deleted it from the camera by mistake.
Chey- Glad to know you are still around.
Have now seen my daughter 3 times in the school play. Enough ! I also got to revisit my chemo wig ! I hated it so much I donated it to a theater group. Had sort of forgotten about it until one character walked on stage and I recognized the fake hair ! Didn't tell the kid this but it still looks like a dead raccoon.
-
Oh, Joan. I am making myself sick laughing at your post about the dead raccoon!
Carroll, you are too late for this time. But you and anyone else are welcome to come anytime. I love to cook. Even when I worked at the law firm and didn't get home until after 7:00, I would go in the kitchen and start cooking. For me it's relaxing but tiring at the same time! I haven't cooked in such a long time. I got inspired while at Walmart. Besides, it beats Taco Bell, McD's or cereal which is what I usually have for supper.
Mom - my DH is a skydive instructor as well. He has been itching to get back to it and now that the weather is warmer, he will be doing that most Saturdays. He loves it, but has had some very close calls! But I figure God knows that I need him around for a while to take care of me, so he keeps the angels close by!
Goodnight all - had to take a pain pill this evening. Had too big of a day I guess!
-
sherry- The only way anyone would get me to skydive would be like in that hilarious scene in "The Bucket List" where Jack Nicholson forces Morgan Freeman out of a plane. The whole way down to the ground he screamed "you dirty rotten SOB, I haaaaaaaaate you". This world, right here on the ground, is dangerous enough for me, thank you! I am so glad you are feeling so well. You have earned it girl!
-
ok, i got a wild hair! i swear i was sober!
my tummy now has 3 jewels pierced in it,hahaha hmmmm, what was i thinking? lol im waiting for the real stones to come in to replace the fake ones, my son,my daughter, and my sister's birthstones, and to top it off they are permanent, ahaha, i was thinking, i want to do something different? something that i would not ever do, hmmmm, shave my head? been there done that!

-
Chey. I will happily loan you pearls for your outfit when we meet. Can't wait until next Spring when we can do a giant group hug and celebrate our friendship. Onward and upward, right? (wearing pearls, of course)
-
Okay, Count me in for next April or whenever for the trip. Can't wait to see all of you. Just got back from Family Night at Julia's assisted living facility. Once a month family gathers and has dinner and karoake or some entertainment. It is nice and the inmates(as Julia refers to them) really enjoy it. The families briing dessert but the rest of the meal is donee by their dining room staff. It is usually quite good.
I have an appt for LE consult next Thursday the 31st. I am trying to keepmy arm up above my heart and doing some milking until then. This is my 1st visit to LE Therapy. Did not have any trouble until last week, but I guess it goes with the territory.
Sherry I love your new pic. My hair is becoming more and more like an afro daily so I wash it in the AM and puts hair gel in it and sort of curl it around my head. My co-workers say they all like my do but I think they are just being nice.
Chey, Glad to see you back with us and how shocking is the navel!!!!!! HA_HA!!!!!!!!
Ladies, I had life's most embarassing moment yesterday at work in the middle of a stereotactic breast biopsy. I was working with a new Radiologist at our facility and it was a difficult case and he had me really moving around a lot and working under the table. I was wearing my soft front fastening bra from rads with my foobs and the front hooks came undone without me knowing it and my foobs slid out onto the floor one at the time right in front of our new Doctor. All I could do was scoop them up and put them aside until I could take care of the problem. He just sort of stood there and stared straight ahead like "I did not see anything!!!!!!". I know he had to see it because he was right beside me and they made a smacking noise when they hit the floor. I am sure I was probably an interesting topic around their supper table. He is a really good guy though and I am going to like working with him but I hope I won't keep having these types of embarassing moments. Just thought I would share this with you ladies because I know you can relate.
Hugs to all, Ginny
-
Oh, Ginny, I can hear that smacking sound as they hit the floor! You are a true champion to have just scooped up those foobs and move on! I don't know,Ginny, but I'm seeing a sitcom in your future. Between Julia's antics and your mishaps like the flopping foobs, well, it would be hilarious and a terrific replacement for all the crap on tv now. As they say...LOL
-
GIN- You are great ! I love the slip sliding foobs !
-
gin2- Take pleasure knowing that doctor will probably live with that image forever. Thankfully, you have such an amazing attitude and sense of humor! I wonder what Julia would say!!
-
Oh my stars, Ginny! Please warn me next time BEFORE you post so I can put on my Depends! I have laughed so hard I about wet my pants! I have read with great interest all of you ladies who have or are going to have the FOOBS because I have already decided if the beast comes back in either one of my boobs, no matter how tiny or how early we find it, BOTH of them are coming off ! Don't know whether or not I would have reconstruction - there's time to decide that later. But if I keep reading these comical, horror stories, I might NOT have the reconstruction!
OH MY STARS CHEY! ! ! Did you get your belly button pierced??? I had my pierced about eight years ago. I had to be real careful when I went to my parents house to make sure I had on a long shirt and didn't raise my arms up high. Can you believe I was a grandmother and was afraid of my mother seeing my belly button piercing??! !
-
Oops - forgot to add this at the end of my post. I had my bone scan today. The rheumatologist ordered this one - checking out my joint issues. Of all the scans, I actually like this one the best - except for the injection. You should see my arm. My veins in my good arm are so shot, everyone has trouble getting into them. I had to be stuck twice today and have some good bruising going on. But, other than that, I don't have to take off my clothes or jewelry, the scan itself is very quiet and it only lasts about 15 minutes. I go back to the rheumatologist next Wednesday. Of course if something turns up bad in the scan I guess they'll call me and not make me wait until next week.
-
P.S. Again - LOL! Ginny, I forgot about your hair comment. When I get out of the shower, my hair looks like an Afro puff too! I immediately start brushing it down with my right hand and going right behind the brush with my left hand mashing it down. I do this over and over while it's really wet. Then while I'm putting on my makeup, I'll repeat the brushing and mashing several times. I'l put on my base, then brush and mash. Put on some eye makup then brush and mash. Draw on some eyebrows then brush and mash. Finally by the time I'm ready, the front and sides look pretty good. The back, however, has a mind of its own and despite all the brushing and mashing back there, it ends up doing it's own thing with waves and curls! I've given up on the back.
Okay - I'm done now. Really. Someone else's turn.
-
