BILATERAL MASTECTOMY ORGANIZATIONS?

Dear Breast Cancer moderators and members,

I was dx with bc in 2008 and had bilateral mastectomies.  Since then, I have been dealing with various issues, from buying shirts/tops that are not too revealing to swimming in public pools.  There are so many adjustments that must be made, and I have not found any organizations that deal with women who have had bilateral mastectomies.

I was lugging my prosthetic breasts to a public shower (we were camping) and thinking...what do other women do? I worry about 'them' getting snagged on something when I'm travelling, or losing one... wouldn't it be great if there was a club just for us?  We could share ideas.  What about if we could arrange to have a retreat somewhere (with a swimming pool) and just relax, swap stories, without wondering if the woman next to us knows anything about mastectomies - because she will have had one?  My hubby and I recently went to a hot springs and I just could not make myself go in.  I don't even know where to buy a swimsuit built for my situation and I wondered what the hot water/minerals would do to my 'girls'.

I know we can share info on this site, but I also think it would be a hugely positive thing to have a large group of women face-to-face rather than just sharing via electronic email, which is so impersonal.  Can we get something going on an international level?  What name should we give this organization?  I'm not the greatest at organizing, but this idea just hit me as being a good one...just not sure where to go from here.

Help, anyone!
