is infiltrating the same as invasive?

Because if it is, I have IDC.  I was diagnosed today and don't have much more info than it is cancer, it is ductal carcinoma and it is infiltrating.  I need some help.  

I do have 3 surgeon appts and an MRI scheduled.  The earliest is next week. 

Is this stage 3 cancer?  Or lower?  The told me I wouldn't know this until I met with a surgeon.  My lump was 3 cm.  Does anyone know what stage this could be??
