Burning pain asite of blue dye injection after SLN bx.

Hi,

I had a SLN bx today and I am having a moderate amt. of burning where the dye was injected.  I did call the the NP that works with my BC.  She said this can happen and the nipple can become hard, they will talk to me in 2 days with the complete path report and see how the discomfort is.

Just wondering what other have experienced.

I had major burning with the dye.  I had a mast that same day so I can't say how long it lasted but it was uncomfortable to say the least.

I had 2 surgeries: the first was a lumpectomy/partial mastectomy to remove DCIS and the second was testing sentinel nodes (3) after micro-invasion was detected in the final lump. pathology.

Pamcycle, I definitely had burning for at least 3 days after the SN surgery -- actually found the recovery more painful than the partial mastectomy. But I did find the lumpectomy recover to be much better than expected.

 As I sit here nearly a month after finishing rads. and nearly four months after my surgeries, I occasionally get pain along my SN scar.  Didn't appreciate how much of an impact removing a few nodes would be and am of course so very thankful that the surgeries ended there.
