I am a thirty old single mother who just found out that mother has breast cancer. We don't know how bad it is.  It was found unknowingly. She had a breast reduction for her back problems and they sent the tissues for a routine pathology check.  Her plastic surgeon called her and told her they found cancer cells.  WHAT A SHOCK. She says it was a blessing that she had this reduction or they would have never found it. She went every year and got check. I don't know how to feel ...... I can't fix this for her and I can't stop this. She is taking so well. She is so worried about being a burden on my sister and I. She says she didn't want to tell us at first. But I am glad she did. I don't understand why bad things happen to GOOD people. When someone can go their whole life doing wrong and hurting people and never face a challenge like this. I can't ask why....I am soooo mad. I have to be the rock for her. She has always been there for me.....I can't imagine her gone this early in my life.

I'm so sorry to hear your Mom was diagnosed, but I'm glad the doctor found it like that.  My Mom had a similar "accidental" discovery, quite the blessing in disguise. 

 I'm glad she has you in her life.  It's tough not being able to fix it, but being there for her means a lot.  I sent you tons of virtual hugs, hang in there.

I'm sorry about the diagnosis. My mother was just diagnosed as well, but she let her lump grow for 5+ months. As many have told me already, it's not the "death sentence" it was before. There have been may strides made. It's hard to think that your mom is sick, but you have each other and that is terrific.
