Life is NOT fair.
You can't save the world by yourself, but collectively we can do a lot.
More lessons learned .... but not in school.

If it doesn't fit, force it. (Although it usually isn't good advice.)

Well....that's altogether telling...Sayings that DO ,make sense is sitting around for DAYS waiting for an answer!!!! HAHAHAHA....Well, here are two from my Grandmother....
Marry in haste, repent at leisure.
Marry for money and you earn every penny.
There must be more sayings that DO make sense!
-
"Love many, trust but few, and always paddle your own canoe." (Native American saying)
"You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar." (my great-grandmother's saying)
any more sayings that make sense?

A stitch in time saves nine.
Measure twice, cut once.
More of the same!

Ruthbru: Would you believe I just set a trap for fruit flies....and the secret ingredient is vinegar!! Cider vinegar that is...and guess what, it WORKED!
-
(not to sidetrack this post, but Suzanne, share your recipe, please? I know someone who is totally freaked out by fruit flies who might appreciate this!).
-
I can't stand the little buggers! You put some apple cider vinegar in a small glass or jar...an ounce is plenty....put in a few drops of dishwashing liquid and cover it with a piece of saran wrap and poke some holes in the plastic. That's it! I takes a couple days, but they all go in. Then you just pour it down the drain. I don't like to kill bugs...but they are never going leave on their own!
-
Thanks, Suzanne! copied, sent to my friend, and saved! As soon as cold weather comes the fruit flies are gone here, but the way this summer's been, that may be awhile! I don't like to kill bugs either (the day I found myself trapping flies to carry them outside
I became a vegetarian) but some do drive me crazy. (I do now swat flies and mosquitoes, and I do eat limited amounts of meat...)
Now, even though I was the last one to reply to the topic, to get us back on it:
Never judge a book by its cover.
and the classic: A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
More sayings that make sense.
