new microcalcifications after radiation

Had bc this year. (My mom also had it). Went through 2 surgeries and radiation. 3 month follow-up showed 2 new areas of microcalcifications, Biopsy is next Wednesday.

Could this be a recurrence? It seems so soon, especially since I completed radiation just 4 months ago. I thought a radiated breast couldn't have subsequent problems.

Also, does anyone know what microcalcifications mean? I mean, why do they form? Anybody know? I'd like to know what they are a symptom of.

    Have you seen the films or the radiologist's report? Did they form a pattern or did they give you a new BIRADS number for it? I do know that calcifications can form due to scar tissue. I can't imagine there would be a recurrence so soon... hopefully someone who has been through this can weigh in with some answers to ease your mind!
