I am not diabetic although I have borderline glucose issues, and have been prescribed Metformin (glucophage) in the past to help control it. I've just been researching Metformin and DCIS, to make sure it's not carcinogenic, and it turns out they've discovered Metformin can help fight breast cancer and prevent recurrences or the development of DCIS into something invasive. Are you taking it by any chance? Sorry I can't help with more specifics on diabetes but I thought the Metformin thing was important to mention.
