Taking Glucosamine Chondrotin for joint pain?

I'm looking for advice re glucosamine chondroitin since I've recently started Arimidex.
I know many ladies take combos which add either Magnesium or MSM to the mix, can anyone tell me what's the difference and which is better ? (I've foolishly been reading MSM as an abbreviation for Magnesium but just discovered it's something different.) What brands/dosage combination would you recommend ? Thanks.
