Would taking DIM and hormone therapy at the same time be bad?

Has anyone learned anything about DIM with raloxifene or tamoxifen?  Is that a no-no?

I take DIM and tamoxifen and have for about 1 1/2 years. I forgot where I read it but I think they complement each other. Unfortunately DIM hasn't helped my estrogen ratio at all. I'm going to start iodine this week to see if it helps.

I forgot to add that my integrative medical doctor has me on DIM and he knows I am on tamoxifen. My medical onc is okay with it too.

Lili46, what do you look at to determine estrogen ratio?

Is it the 2-hydroxy to 16-alpha hydroxy ratio?

I know that I was really focused on my 2OH:16OH ratio, and I freaked when mine dropped after initially increasing on DIM/I3C.

That is where I think there is tremendous value in having a complete Estrogen Profile done.(24 Hr Urine test, too). My EQ (The amount of estriol compared to estrone + estradiol) was 8.0 - anything over 1.0 is considered good.  My 4OH and other bad metabolites were very low. It showed me that the reason my 2OH:16OH ratio was low was because my estradiol levels had dropped so low(<.25), that the ratio was dealing with very small numbers.

It is possible that something similar is happening with you??
