Hello ladies...
I'm a newbie...I am 32 yrs old and I was dx'd in April with ADH in the right breast, after undergoing core biopsy, due to a lump I found during BSE...I have now undergone an excisional biopsy (5/5) and am now nervously awaiting my results...I know I haven't been dx'd with DCIS, but seeing as though my biopsy has put me at its front door, I figured you lovely ladies might be able to point me in the right direction if my results show DCIS...I go Friday for my f/u and I will get my first good look at my path report...Wish me luck

HI Angie,
I am in the same situation as you. I was dx'd with ADH after a core needle biopsy and because there was a mass sowing behind where the biopsy came from I had a Wide Excisional Biopsy/Lumpectomy done on 05/07 and I too am waiting for the results. My BS and PCP have both said they suspect DCIS, maybe IDC. The BS told my Husband and my Mom just after the surgery that she though it was looking good and she thinks she got good margins.. So I guess time will tell. I have my follow up tomorrow but I am not sure if the results will be available then...
Sending good wishes your way..

Angie, I had 2 previous dx of ADH (within an 18 month period) before I got the dx of DCIS. If the lumpectomy doesn't show anything worse be grateful but also be viglant in getting mammos or MRI. My surgeon put me on a 6 month mammo schedule and follow-up with him for CBE's after my first ADH episode. My surgeon also put me on Tamox as a possible preventative after the 2nd dx of ADH.
Good luck on the follow-up appointment. ask for a copy of the pathology report and start a file even if it isn't DCIS. Having the file will help with any decisions you may need to make in the future.
