Lupus and Radiation

Hi Ladies!   I was diagnosed with discoid lupus in 1990 and I completed 29 RADs on 03Nov09.  Just over 2 months later (10Jan10), I developed a red-purple area on my right (bad) breast and then slowly that mark disappeared and new red areas were appearing and moving all around my breast.  During this time, my breast developed the pitted, orange-peel skin and a heaviness to the breast.  I did consult my GP and oncologists (both medical and RAD) and I was referred to a dermatologist (who specializes in cancer) and he did 3 skin punch biopsies, which came back negative for the skin tissue.  My oncologist moved up my first post-treatment mammography to 01Apr10 and thankfully it came back clear.  From what the doctors have told me, they believe that my delayed skin reaction is due to the discoid lupus, and I'm just wondering if any of you ladies have had this same condition or heard of it?  My breast is still pink, with red areas and the pitted orange-peel texture.  I'm thinking the swelling/heaviness could be breast edema?  Thank you in advance for any of your opinions.  Laughing
