With Mother's Day coming up this Sunday, I thought it would be nice to have a topic devoted to mothers and daughters.

Share something that your child has said to you that made you smile, laugh, cry (good sort of cry!), etc...  OR

Share something that you have said to your mother that made you smile, laugh, cry etc...

I never have been someone who has been affectionate with my mother. She is elderly now, 83 years old, and lives far away from me.  Since my dx I have been in the habit of saying, "I love you" at the end of every conversation that I have with her.  My mother has reciprocated! Which has been awesome.

My children (18 and 21) donated money to Susan Komen in my honor after my dx.  My older son washed my hair in the sink for 2 weeks after my TE surgery.  My DH was out of town.  That as pretty special.

What a nice idea. I wish I could participate, but don't have kids (well, I do, but just the 4 legged kind!!). Happy Mother's Day to you!!

    GoodVibesOnly,

    Great idea!

Your children sound pretty special!!.  Washing your hair and everything!!!  It's surprising, to me anyway, what kids will do when they are really needed!

I received my diagnosis right before Mother's day last year so this year is pretty special to me.

I know that, after my diagnosis, my son who is 16, whenever he would call from a friend's house to let me know where he was, he would say "I love you" before he would get off the phone EVEN if his friend (GASP) was standing right there.  He never was one to really show much emotion so, I reallly treasured that!

I quit smoking a few months ago and when I told my daughter, who is away at college, she said "Mom, I am soooooo proud of you".  That brought a tear (happy) to my eye!

Hope all of you have a GREAT Mother's Day!!!!

My kids, 21, 23, 24, 28 rallied around me like little angles whenI was devastingly ill from chemo.  I am so blessed to have them and so grateful for their love and support.  Tommorow, my girls and I (23, 24 will take the train into Philadelphia to see the play "Respect".  That is my kind of mother;s day present--spending time with my beautiful babies.  Warms my heart. God bless all mothers and non mothers and all of us!!! xo

Happy Mother's Day.....my girls (now ages 32 and 28) were so good to me while I was doing chemo and rads. My younger daughter lives in another state and she stayed with me from Mon-Fri to ccare for me. I always felt that I must have done something good (from "the Sound of Music") I am blessed with both their love and support. I always thank God for them. I know have a granddaughter, also. I call them..my 3 girls!! Happy Mother's Day.
