Anyone on Herceptin taking beta glucans?

I wonder whether anyone is taking beta glucans for increasing the effect of Herceptin .

My mom's neighbour overseas is doing so and she is like "Duh! Everyone is doing it here" etc. There is a ton on the web about it. For example  http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19454271

As expected, my onc was not interested in the topic - " Herceptin is very effective already" she said but OKed it for me. So now I am taking 450 mg of inexpensive yeast-derived beta glucans daily (it claims increased macrophage production, cholesterol management, enhanced wound healing )

I don't think I've heard about this but the next time I have a visit with my ND I'll bring it up and see what he has to say

If going for beta glucan to support Herceptin, I recommend as the source of beta glucan those mushrooms for which there is some evidence or report of effectiveness against breast cancer.  See my January 23 2010 reply in a thread about mushrooms in this forum:  http://community.breastcancer.org/forum/79/topic/743853?page=1#post_1687772

I brought up beta glucan at my last visit.  Uh, little did I know I was already taking them in MUSHROOM form!  Felt like a ding dong.
