Libido still gone after nearly a year
Hi,
I see a lot of posts on the other sections about Tamoxifin having an effect on libido but what about TN's with no further medication after treatment. Do you ladies suffer from libido problems years down the line?
This is something that really worries me and seems to be dragging on and on.

Hi Sandals,
I'm a year and a half out, and yep - still a problem for me! I think there are just so darned many reasons for it, and it just sucks. It seems so unfair on top of everything else! So many reasons for it - chemopause being at the top of the list for me.
-
add me to the list.
WHen you find a solution, please let me know!
-
It's been 2 1/2 years for me and I'm still waiting as well. I wish it would come back! My husband really wishes it would come back!

11 mos. out and nothing. No MoJo. Doc told me to use KY "fun" gel. Feels like someone rubbed a chilli pepper on me. Hubby is not a happy camper. I let him buy a motorcycle. A girls gotta give in to somethings.
-
Me too.

Wow, this doesn't offer me much hope. I'm still in chemopause too and no sign of that going as yet. Oncologist told me "You probably just don't feel sexy".
Having a major impact on my marriage too!

I have not started chemo but my sister who also had bmx had same problem...she went and got acupuncture and swear it helped get her libido back.
hey it might be worth a try

Ok, my libido is gone too.......BUT, I did try the "Vagifem" suppository to plump up the V JJ area, and also "Replense" to lubricate the plumped up Va JJ area. Then the most important thing is the little "Poket Rocket" my hubby uses to get the old libido going, and it totally works, even when not in the mood. Nothing like a little strategically place vibration

I might look into the acupuncture. Thanks.
I've been on Vagifem too but finished a month or so ago. I use Vibrators but the initial urge just isn't there. I mean, I never actually want to make love to my husband....no real desire for it. Sounds so bad!
-
I continue to use the Vagifem tabs twice a week. What do you mean you finished?

I was only given it for 3 months.
I'm back to being "dry" again now though and it never helped my libido.

I thought there was nothing I could do for my incredible discomfort. Then I got referred to a gynocologist at Stanford who specializes in post chemo trouble down there.
She told me to use replens three times a week to moisten you up inside. It is very long lasting and makes at least me feel like my old self. Then Pjur is for just before sex. A very very good long lasting lubricant. She also gave me vagifem....do we know for sure it is safe? I havne't been able to get in to see my oncologist.
This stuff at least made sex comfortable. That was a major hurdle. Before it hurt like crazy.
Now my stumbling blocks are that I have an expander on one side and nothing on the other (and the nothing looks worse than before I tried an expander). My hubby as given zero attention to the expander side even though the shape isn't bad. Makes me feel like crap. Men are so stupid. I don't want more surgery till I figure out how to control my lymphedema and I get to 4-5 years past diagnosis...so I'll be this way for quite a while.
