My friend is TN stage 3. She told me that her period came back. She has almost no more hot-flashes either. Is that a concern or should she just ignore. ???

Any input.......

Thanks

Well, she should see a doctor just to check things out.  Better to stay on top of unusual things.

But, since TN is not hormonally driven, it should not be an issue.

My onc told me that 50 was the average age for menopause...I was a little younger than that and but had a test done...totally infertile..have not had a period for a year....she should check with her doctor but I am thinking that if you are in your 30's or early 40's there is a very good chance you will have your period again....I'm 50 now but still thinking that it is not impossible to have a period again.but it is highly doubtful.

I have had three cycles since March, chemo finished last June. My labs in January had showed postmenopause, but I guess my 41 yr old body had different ideas.  My understanding that with TN is it okay to have periods, but any abnormality should be reported to your MD.  My periods are way heavier and unfortunately I have had PMS, which I never had before and really hope will decrease as my body readjusts.

I was 36 and diagnosed April 2009. I started chemo in June 2009. Right after my second weekly Taxol I had a period. Doctor said should stop the further we get into treatments. Well it did, but two weeks after final FAC infusion....I AGAIN started a period. That was around December 1st 2009. Bled a very long time. It finally stopped. I went to OBGY for yearly check up in February 2010. In March 2010 (last month) I did an FSH blood test to see if I was POST menopausal. They said YES... I AM post menopausal. Thought well NO MORE PERIODS.....WRONG......This past Friday I started my period. I spotted on Friday......Bled HEAVY Saturday and Sunday. Started slowing down yesterday and today ALMOST stopped. I did call OBGYN first thing yesterday morning. She said we will do a endometrial biopsy just to be safe. I started this topic on another forum and YES lots of women DO get the periods back......

I was told, "some do, some don't. About 50%"
