So, I'll just try to tackle a few of these:

1. When's it best to workout? Whenever you'll be INTO it. If you're going to half ass it in the morning, then do it at night. If you'll have distractions at night, then do it in the morning.
2. Personally, I'd try to squeeze in some protein at every opportunity, but there are worse things than nuts, apples and turkey.
3. Should you workout every day? No. Your body needs time to heal. Soon enough, you'll injure yourself.
4. Good routines? There are millions, but I've always liked full body routines 3 times a week for weight loss, with some intervals or other form of cardio on a couple of off days, but everyone's different. Seriously, just google 'full body routine'. If you want a book, The New Rules of Lifting is a good place to start.
