I Love Lyrics

Daisy Jane - America
In a noisy bar in Avalon
I tried to call you.
But on a midnight watch I realized
Why twice you ran away. -
I had to google but once I did I said oh of course! CSNY - Southern Cross
I could feel at the time
There was no way of knowing
Fallen leaves in the night
Who can say where they're blowing? -
As free as the wind
Hopefully learning
Why the sea on the tide
Has no way of turning? -
More than This by Norah Jones?
Same old song
Just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do Crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see -
Dust in the Wind - Kansas
Mini1 - it was More Than This but by Roxy Music (off their album "Avalon")
Your love's contagious, one kiss is dangerous
But I have more to risk, than you to lose
I feel passion growing
I know that love is only just one inch away, from striking us -
We Live for Love - Pat Benatar
Been working so hard / I'm punching my card
Eight hours for what? / Oh, tell me what I got
I've got this feeling / That time's just holding me down
I'll hit the ceiling or else / I'll tear up this town -
Footloose - Kenny Loggins (good one Badger
)Ooooooh here she comes
Watch out boy she'll chew you up -
she's a Maneater - Hall & Oates
(Footloose gets my toes tapping every time!)
'Cause I'm leaving in the morning
And I must see you again
We'll have one more night together
'Til the morning brings my train
And I must go -
Last Train to Clarksville the Monkees.
Nobody knows where my Johnny has gone
But Judy left the same time
Why was he holding her hand
When he's supposed to be mine? -
It's My Party (and I'll cry if I want to) - Lesley Gore
OK here's an easy one but I was tuned in to an Easy Listening radio station-
On the day that you were born the angels got together
And decided to create a dream come true
So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair
And golden starlight in your eyes of blue -
Close to you - Carpenters
Pink in the mirror on top of the hill
It's just like swallowin' up a medicine pill
First thing I saw that Cadillac grille
Doin' a hundred and ten gallopin' over that hill
Offhill curve, a downhill stretch
Me and that Cadillac neck by neck -
Maybelline - Chuck Berry
Pulling out of San Pedro late one night
With the moon and the stars just shining bright
We was headed up Grapevine Hill
Passing cars like they was standing still
All of a sudden, in the wink of an eye
A Cadillac sedan passed us by -
my pappy said son you're gonna drive me to drinkin' if you don't stop drivin' that
Hot Rod Lincoln - Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen
Darling just be yourself tonight.
There’s nothing wrong with the way you feel.
The moon and stars are in the sky.
We’re centuries apart
And the lights are shining down on you. -
Conditioned Soul - Eurythmics
Lonesome Sue, she's in love with ol'Sam
Take him from the fire into the frying pan -
On & On - Stephen Bishop
I dream at night, I can only see your face
I look around but it's you I can't replace -
Every Breath You Take by the Police, Or as I call it The Stalkers Lament. :-)
Blame it all on my roots,
I showed up in boots,
And ruined your black tie affair. -
Friends in Low Places - Gart Brooks
I want to ride in your '55 T-Bird
Drive through some old memories
I ain't after your body baby
I just want you to dance with me
-
I want to bop with ya baby, all night long - Dan Seals
We'll have children (Lua), of the Kingdom (Joshua).
They won't be torn by war, nor will they
Kill or hate, or hestitate, to love. Justice. -
Ruby Jean and Billie Lee - Seals And Crofts
Some people live their dreams
Some people close their eyes
Some people's destiny
Passes by -
Toto - I'll be over you.
I was sure I'd lost my chance for forever
I never dreamed we'd ever meet again
now here we are alone once more together
doing all the loving things we used to do back then -
Crystal Gayle - It's Like We Never Said Goodbye
**Does anyone remember the Mandrell Sister's Show from the late 70's early 80's? I used to watch with my grandparents when I was 4 or 5 and Crystal Gayle used to guest star quite a bit. I remember just being in complete awe of her hair.

Once I never could hope to win
You starting down the road leaving me again
The threats you made were meant to cut me down
And if our love was just a circus you'd be a clown by now -
I'm still standing by Sir Elton John - And yes I remember the Mandrells. And Crystal Gayle's hair. She is still a beautiful woman.
Last time I saw her it was turnin' colder
But that was years ago
Last I heard she had moved to Boulder
But where she's now I don't know -
What She's Doing Now - Garth Brooks
So many dreams
I've kept deep inside me.
Alone in the dark
But now you've come along. -
You Light Up My Life - Debby Boone
I also remember the Mandrell Sisters show and Crystal Gayle, and all that hair!
Every night I hope and pray a _____ _____ will come my way
A girl to hold in my arms and know the magic of her charms
'Cause I want (yeah-yeah yeah) a girl (yeah-yeah yeah) to call (yeah-yeah yeah) my own
(yeah-yeah) I want a _____ _____ so I don't have to dream alone -
Dream Lover - Bobby Darin
In the dark I like to read his mind
But I’m frightened of the things I might find
Oh there must be something he’s thinking of to tear him away
When I tell him that I’m falling in love, why does he say........ -
Hush, keep it down now, Voices Carry - 'Til Tuesday
We are stardust
We are golden
We are billion-year-old carbon
And we got to get ourselves
Back to the garden -
Woodstock - CRosby Stills & Nash
Loving you
Isn't the right thing to do
How can I
Ever change things that I feel? -
Go Your Own Way - Fleetwood Mac (great song)
Took my chances on a big jet plane, never let them tell you that they're all the same.
The sea was red and the sky was grey, wondered how tomorrow could ever follow today.
The mountains and the canyons started to tremble and shake
As the children of the sun began to awake. -
Going to California -- Led Zepplin
I haven't posted in ages, but was thinking of this song today. The lyric cracks me up. I know it is probably +++ difficulty, so here's a hint...think showtune. I don't even know who sang it, but try and guess at the musical or the writer if you can.
Oh the first line of the blues is always sung a second time (oh yeah?)
First line of the blues is always sung a second time (kinda smooth!)
So by the time you get to the third line you've had time to think up a rhyme.
Oh there ain't no law that says the third line has to be different at all.
No, no, there ain't no law that says the third line has to be different at all.
No there ain't no law that says the third line has to be different at all.
Never borrow a mouth organ - not even from your best friend.
No, no, no, never borrow a mouth organ - not even from your best friend.
'Cos you may survive the blowing, but the sucking's gonna get you in the end. -
I don't know how long to leave the lyrics up now, so the answer to that one was "Poppa's Blues" from the musical Starlight Express (Andrew Lloyd Webber.) That was a hard one, I know. I'll go back to something off the radio:
Tonight's the night when I go to all the parties down my street.
I wash my hair and I kid myself I look real smooth
Look over there! (Where?)
Here comes Jeanie with her new boyfriend
They say that looks don't count for much
If so, there goes your proof
