Breast redness-how long does this go on ?

Hi All

I am 8mths out of rads and get this redness which is hot all over the breast. It comes and goes. Does this sound normal-is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

I do also have lymphedema in that breast but its not an infection .

Hi Anna, my mom has exactly the same issue. Her breast is hot and red (not always) and when she wears bra, she has a line in her breast area. She hasn't lymphedema and she is 3 months out of rads. She continues to use a hydrated cream twice a day. We are thinking to ask the doctor if this continues.

Hi ladies,

My radiated breast is still fuller than the other but not redder. Every time I have a mammogram it plumps up more. It is still slightly warmer  Yes, because of this edema bras leave an impression on the breast. I am 9 months post rads now! And I was worried this breast would be smaller!

Just came from my doctors.  I have edema in my breast three months after finishing radiation. The redness and warmth I was told is because the blood vessels are now close to the skin.  Also the situation would probably not change and my breast will remain swollen and hot.  What is an edema bra and were you told it would help the situation?
