possible lung mets

Options

I saw my pcp today for a totally unrelated issue. However, the lung xray my onc had ordered, which he does yearly, was posted, and he read it to me. There is a 1.5 cm undefined lesion. My dr suggested I contact my onc, said they would likely do a ct scan and a biopsy depending on the results of the scan. I had triple neg, 4 cm, node negative bc in Nov 2007. Had ac and taxol. I am terrified. Any input?  Any info re lung mets?  I cannot abide the idea of more chemo. But i am not ready to give up either.

I have lung mets, and had a biopsy to confirm my mets.  I had multiple spots, not just one so I am very hopeful this is something benign.  I am sorry you are going thru this scary time.  Feel free to PM me with any questions you may have and keep us updated on your results :>  lisa

How are lung mets treated (or mets anywhere for that matter)?  Do they do surgery or just do chemo and radiation?

Mets are treated with chemo.  If you're ER+ hormonals can be used.  Herceptin if you're Her2+.  Radiation is sometimes used for bone mets for pain.  Radiation for brain mets.  Some have had radiation for persistent nodes when chemo doesn't work well.
