triple neg, mets to skin

My Mom, 85, made it through triple neg, mastectomy, dose dense treatment with AC/T. 3/12 years later, it is back... all tests (CAT, PET, blood work, bone scan) are clean. The only place doc can find cancer is in the SKIN!! Is that odd??? Mom is taking xeloda (week on, week off) and showing no changes so far. DOES ANYONE HAVE INFO re. mets to skin??? Thanks. Janetht
