Question about Been-a-Boobs and others like it

Options

I have a question about forms that are bean(ish) filled--do they make a sound like a bean bag when they move? Do they feel like a bean bag if someone was squishing your boob? I knwo that sounds silly, but what do they feel like? I can just imagine me running with my BABs and just hearing the sound of a bean bag shaking the whole time! lol!

I haven't had my mastectomies yet, but I'm doing form research.

Hey Turtletots!! I just started wearing Been-A-Boobs.  I have had bilateral mastectomies and recently had my one implant out!  With Been-A-Boob I am symetrical for the first time in 2 years!!! There is no noise, shaking, heat or that hard boob feeling I had with my old prosthesis.  I love this bean bag!  I just ordered a second set, so I'll have a clean set.  They fit great in my mastectomy bra, and one is an angelwing to make up for my axillary dissection.  This works good for me and it is affordable!  Good Luck!  Dawn

I have a been-a-boob and mine doesn't make any noise either!!!  I find it much lighter than the Amoena forms but I haven't asked my dh if it feels "beanier" that the silicone-filled form when he hugs me.  (Actually, I think he would have told me if it did!).

Good for you for researching this before your surgery!  And good luckKiss!

    Linda and Dawn,

What size Been-A-Boobs do you have? I'm small and like to wear an A cup breast form (usually size 2, 3, or 4). How would these look in tight tee shirts? I feel as if I tried them once, but I've ordered and returned so many forms, I really can't remember . . .

Hi Erica!  Hope this helps!  I am a small woman who has always had big boobs, until I had bilateral mastectomies in 9/08 and 1/09. I had an implant for my first that I recently had removed. I went and bought the Been-A-Boob and love them I got the size 3 round and angel wing, to accomodate my axilary dissection. For the first time in 2 years I am symetrical. My mastectomy bra size is 38 A. I was  a C cup preop, and I look the same so, I would order a 1 or 2 if I were you!  Good Luck

I have had bilateral mastectomies and have been using a silicone prosthesis for many years following the first surgery. I was rather tender after my second surgery and requested a temporary prosthesis until I was healed. The prosthesis with the puffy stuff in in just did not look good so they gave me a bean bag thing stating that it would be temporary. In fact, it looked so bad that they told me to wear a sweater or over shirt so it would not show. I hate this thing. Everytime I hit it when I reach across my chest it feels hard and icky. I am still using my old silicone prosthesis on the opposide and the difference is amazing. When I hit the silicone it feels natural - not the bean bag thing. Weight is not an issue when you are small breasted and if your insurance covers it, you should go for silicone. I just tried to trade the beany thing in for something more natural - remember that I was told that this was temporary until I healed. Unfortunately, they have now changed their tune and say that I cannot change it until I am eligible for a new prosthesis in a year!!!!!!!! They even charged my insurance over $350.00 for the thing! Yuck!!!!

    Hi, PT6,

I'm curious to know where you got the "bean bag thing" and who makes it because if it was the Been-a-boob they are around $60 so there is no way the retailer should have charged your Insurance company $350.
