Does anyone had zoladex and tamoxifen combined together for hormoneal treatment? My concern is i did zoladex 2years (once a month) and still on tamoxifen since june 2007. My oncologist said i will get my periods back after i completed zoladex between 3-6mths but no PERIOD hasn't come knocking at my door as yet. I went to see a new oncologist and he said i will get my period back if i got off tamoxifen altogether. Very confused and concerned how 2 oncologists gave me 2 different scenarios - not so happy JAN....how can this be.... so over it!!!!!! Anyway the 2nd oncologist requested i get a hormonal blood test and apparently i am PREMENOPAUSAL and my hormone levels are at the good end being on tamoxifen. My results are FSH 5.6 IU/LLH 1.1 IU/L / ESTRADIOL 164pmol/L ( this is tamoxifen still in my system) just went off tamoxifen for a 6week break during that test. Dr said it takes about 3months for the tamoxifen to get out of my system.... Does anyone know if  my results are normal??? I am a little concerned because i would like to have another child oneday soon if possible...or am i being foolish to wanting a baby. I just feel so oeverwhelmed by it all and i feel that BC has taken that opportunity away from me from being a mother again. I am grateful for the one i already have but whos says i didn't want more if you know what i mean.... LIFE IS UNFAIR FOR SOME....!

I started Lupron with Tamox June 2008. So it is coming up 2 years for me. Lupron does the same thing as Zoladex.

Im 32, and I feel a little different than you do regarding this whole mess we are in. I, myself, will be having an ooph in July. Sooner, if a surgery spot comes up. I have one child, pre BC. I don't want anymore children. I believe its risky for our OS (overall survival) especially being ER+. If I was ER-, I would think differently...for sure.

I know there was a recent study how pregnancy doesn't affect survival after a BC diagnosis but....me? I'm not buying it. This is just my opinion, or better, my gut feeling.

Ok, back to your question....I can't comment on your results. I hope someone else can. What does your onc recommend? Most oncs recommend to hold off pregnancy untill you have finished Tamox (5 yrs). Have you discussed this.

Bottom line though, its your personal decision. I'm sure your period will come back, but we are all so different. I think between 3-6 months is a good guess. Oh and Tamox doesn't stop your period.
