BS called tonight with path report...
My BS called around 8 tonight with good news!!!! No nodes involved....and all non-invasive!!!!
Whew! It was going to be a long weekend if I didn't hear from her until Monday! I was surprised my path was ready so soon - surgery was just on Tuesday, but she told me at discharge yesterday that it would be ready today. She said the report will indicate that the margins are slim, but she said with the extra layer of fat, and then the fissia(?) layer before the muscle, that she would not be concerned about rads. I asked if she were me, would she do rads, and she said no. However, she said I should consult with a rads specialist (I will see Marisa Weiss) to hear all the info and be able to ask questions. My BS works with Marisa Weiss, and she said that she knows she will tell me not to worry. Being that it is non-invasive, plus with the TEs pushing everything forward, she feels it is something not to stress over. She mentioned down the road that I will probably want to speak with a onc re the 'good breast' and whether tamoxifen will enter the picture ... but right now, I am not thinking of taking it.
Drain is a pain....thankfully, I only have one. The BS thinks it will be out on Monday, since I am not having a whole lot of drainage ...today was less than 25 cc....and she said if it repeats tomorrow at a low amount, she would even stop by and take it out for me on Sunday so that I don't have to go another day with this thing under my arm! (she lives not far from me, and we are friends with a colleague of hers....so connections do pay off sometimes!)
I am feeling quite relieved at the moment....and grateful. Without all of you --- I honestly think I would have been pulling my hair out during the past 8 weeks. How much has happened in such a short period of time .... although it feels like it has been years rather than weeks! Many, many hugs to all of you ..... you will always remain in my prayers.

Glad to hear all non-invasive. For me my surgery was 10 weeks after my biopsy, because of two previous abnormal biopsies and family history of breast/ovarian cancer I opted for bilateral with the TE's. I unfortunately had 4 drains and two were removed one week after and the other two the following week.

Joyko- AWESOME NEWS! I think I have seen your posts on March. Mast. thread. I am so happy you got such great news. I am also so fortunate. My BMX was 3/26 and my path came back completely negative. I have TEs and 6 remaining drains (had 8!). They are very annoying and I am tired of carrying around this "bag of blood grenades!" LOL
I think we have all been through so much and it has been great to get the support from this site! Everyone is so kind and helpful it makes this challenge bearable. Hugs to all my sisters. Recover and rejuvenate with lightening speed!

Hi Joyce,
That is awesome news! I hope you had a nice Easter. I am back to work tomorrow with drains but I found a little fanny pack so it's not too bad. Take care.

Oh, thank God. I'm so, so happy for you.
