Should a PET scan be positive with a TE?

has anyone had a PET scan show increasedd uptake around their tissue expander - is it normal? If not what does it mean? Will it affect timing of sister's exchange?

You can get increased uptake from the inflammation.  However, the report will usually say "uptake consistent with recent procedure" or something like that.  I would ask to speak to the radiologist who read the PET.  A good question would be: "What does this uptake likely indicate?"  Most likely, they'll say: "post-surgery (or foreign body) inflammation."
