Postradiation side effects

Have any of you developed radiation pneumonitis? Sis has been very short of breath - worse than her usual asthma and fatigue that just wont quit. Her rads finished almost 2 months ago. She had a CT/PET that shows radiation pneumonitis and increased activity around her tissue expander. 

What did they do for you and did it help? Does it resolve completely? Could it have been avoided.

my rad onc just this morning said she is suspecting my pain and cough are from radiation pneumonitis. however, she did not do any specific diagnostics to confirm this. instead, she started me on prednisone, which she says will clear it up if that is really what I am experiencing. said it should clear up within a few days...

my rads ended in Nov, and I am just now having this cough and pain.

on the other hand, my g.p. thinks I have a wee bug and wants me on an antibiotic.

maybe I will just take both presecriptions and cover all bases!
