What a day.  This beast is ugly.  You can dress it up in pink but it's still ugly.  I've lost a dear friend to breast cancer this morning.  Yesterday I found out another friend has just diagnosed with a recurrence and it's Stage IV.  I just makes me sad.  These aren't friends that I've met through breast cancer but friends I knew before either of our bc.

I am doing well as far as bc - my Jan check up was clean.  But you're never truly free of the fear of a recurrence.  Sometimes I believe I'm doing everything I can to keep the beast away.  I'm taking the tamoxifen.  But I still have a ways to go as far as a healthier lifestyle.

After I got the phone call this morning about my friend, I went for a walk with my camera in search of beauty.

Ann, I am so sorry about the loss of your friend. You're right, the beast is ugly and we're never free of the fear.

I hope you found beauty. I hope you'll find some comfort.

This is a very ugly beast to deal with. You look like you have "good stats" as good as they get with BC, beautiful photo, there is beauty everywhere, I think you see it more cleary with a different set of eyes after you are diagnosed. we all move forward, waiting for cure, hoping for cure,  CS
