Web Site For Sharing Your Story
Hi Everyone! I wasn't sure where to post this, but this seemed like maybe the best spot. I went through treatment in 2007, and after losing all my hair to chemo, I took weekly pictures of it growing back so that I could share it with other survivors who were wondering about hair regrowth. When I told one of my friends about my little project, he wanted to help me. He was in the process of getting his masters degree in multi-media design, so he put together an interactive website where I could put in my pictures, write text, and add music.
It was a very cathartic process to go through my treatment pictures and write the narrative. My friend lost his daughter to cancer a few years ago, so he used the site to create a story of her life too, and he said it was a really helpful process to put it together.
Anyway, I got such nice feedback from people, that he thought it would be really nice to offer this as a service to other people who wanted to share their own stories, so he made it really easy to use and its available for anyone to access.
If you'd like to check it out, the website is www.hopestrength.org. If you go to "recent galleries" you'll see mine as well as the one for his daughter (be prepared for strong emotions).
Hugs to all my BC.org sisters!

Dean I tried to visit the site but is not loading...
-
I tried too. What gallery name do we use?
-
Go to recent galleries and select "DeAnn Hoff's Gallery". I did the same but the selected gallery is not loading. Let me know if you success to see the gallery.

Oh, I got it-it's fantastic! Wonderful pictures, and I liked reading the narrative. Thank you for sharing this link, DeAnn.
It took a minute or two for the pictures to load. I hope you can get it, gogo.

Thanks, Tennessee!
Yes, you do sometimes have to wait a couple of minutes for everything to load up. I think he's working on the speed issues, and, obviously, the more pictures and music you've loaded, the longer it takes. But generally if you wait a few minutes, it should eventually come up.

I just talked with my friend about the site, and if you have trouble getting a gallery to load, you might want to try a different browser. For some reason, certain browser settings are not getting the data to load back. But he is researching the issue and will let me know what he finds out.
