Anyone still not able to wear bra after 18 months?

Options

I had mastectomy and SNB September 2008.Started chemo and herceptin in October and was very sick. Finally went to PT last spring and regained motion in arm,but my underarm and chest are so sensitive.I have tried all kinds of bras, but all seem to rub on my underarm. There seems to be a "fat pad" under my arm,it is not lymphademaI had read that self massage could help with the sensitivity.Any ideas appreciated!

I am only 4 months out from surgery and just finished round 5/6 of Taxotere, carbo and hercep.

I cannot wear any of my old bras- they are all underwire. The wire rubs on the clip holding my expander in place. I just kept looking until I found bras I could tolerate. triangle My favorite is a very basic triangle bra- no wire,no support, no fabric in the back.

The second best is a nursing bra from Walmart that hooks in the front. The only drawback are there are seams right down the front and they leave dents in my skin.

As far as the sensitivity I would rub the area with the back of my hand until I couldn't tolerate it anymore to get my brain to understand that there should be no sensation there (the nerve was cut).

Also anytime my arm feels tight or sore I stop and take time to stretch it out.

    GOOD LUCK!
