Swim with Amoena prosthesis?

Actually, more just hang out in the pool than swim.

What I am wondering is if you wear your regular prosthesis in your swimsuit?  I just got my prosthesis last week and the girl who fitted me (and Amoena's website) say that it can be used in a  pool if you rinse it afterwards.  Just curious how many of you do use your prosthesis in a pool.

(I read the thread awhile back about using the bath scrubby things.)

    Hi Faith;

    I just came back from a beach holiday and I used an Amoena swimform instead of my regular prosthesis. It was a bit lighter and I was told that the smell of chlorine would stay in my regular one so I decided on the swimform. I was happy with it as it wasn't as heavy or as hot. I also heard of the bath scrubby thing but I didn't try it.

    Is the swim form lighter, dry faster, ????  Or is it basically the same thing but clear?

    When I bought my regular one I was told that after every swim you have to wash it with soap and water.  Since on a tropical vacation I am in and out of the ocean and pool, that didn't make sense to me.  I was told that the chlorine and salt would damage the form by the rep. I used a fibrefill boob and as I got out of the water I just gave my boob a hug to release excess water.  I didn't want to buy a swim form as my insurance wouldn't pay.  then I discovered Been-a-boob from Janac Sportswear which is a round bean bag filled with silicone beads.  It forms nicely into a breast and also is great for sports bras.  It can get wet and is very low maintenance. Cost in a store, not on line was $55.

    I googled Janac Sportswear and looked at their website.  It looks very interesting.  I sent an email asking if they will accept returns if I don't like it.  Since it would be an online order and I would be unable to see it ahead of time, I need the reassurance that they take returns before I order one to look at it.  Can you tell me if it dries fast when you get out of the pool?

    Thanks to you girls for your replies.  Anybody else have any suggestions?

    Still haven't heard back from the email question I sent to Janac Sportswear.

    Anybody else have any suggestions or can tell me what they do when they swim?
