What to Discuss with my Onc

Ok, I have an appt with my onc and a zometa infusion coming up next week.  I have sooooooo many things on my mind about my cancer and not sure what questions to ask him.  He's not a doc with great "bedside manner" and only discusses things if I press him.  So I want to be prepared this time, without sounding stupid.  One question I have is my ER+ was 100% and my PR+ was 88% all the way back from my core biopsy.  Does that ever change?

Also can you guys suggest any other questions I should write down to ask him?

My biggest question for my onc at my next visit (zometa infusion) is what is my follow up plan.  By that time, I will have finished surgery, chemo, and rads.

Oh, I think we must have the same onc.  My onc always gives a heavy sigh when I start asking questions.  I often brought a written list when I went to chemo.  I ignore his reaction and keep asking.

helena67 ~  Nope don't agree with you.  My onc may not have the greatest of bedside manner but he's an awesome doctor whom I entrust my treatment to.

    Hi Pure,

Your final pathology report should have your "final" PR/ER status on it.  But I haven't heard that it's common for it to be different there.  For that matter I've never heard that it's different, but I suppose it could if they found more than one type of cancer, which you would know by now.  I'm sure your onc has reviewed it already as that info is intrigle to your treatment plan.  But if you don't have a copy of it you should ask for one to keep at home.

Hope all goes well.  I know how you feel about the bedside manner thing.  My bc surgeon is the same way.........grrr.......

Thanks Sharon, I'm gonna ask my onc about the "final" ER PR status.  Oh, and I'm not PureWink
