How can others understand living with long-term pain?

Hello, I'm based in Nottingham, I'd really like to get your views on breast cancer related pain.

If you have ever suffered with long-term pain, what do you think it would take for others to truly understand "how bad it is"?

I am conducting some research for a pharmaceutical company, and your answers to this question will help to understand the needs of those who are dealing with long-term pain.
