Is Cordyceps harmful to BC patients?

I recently started taking a mushroom supplement called RM-10 to help me get over symptoms unresolved after completing chemo. in December 2009. I'm still dealing with fatigue and neuropathy. I've been taking them for a few weeks; 1 tab twice a day and actually started feeling better as the RM-10 is listed as an immune system food. I'm concerned because listed among the blend of organically grown mushrooms is "Cordyceps." I've read where breast cancer patients aren't to use this supplement but am uncertain as to why not.

I've had a simple mastectomy on Jan. 21; margins were clean and two nodes removed were negative. I'll begin radiation treatments next month. I've asked my oncologist about taking RM-10 and she deemed it OK; but I neglected to tell her of the list of ingredients. Now I'm scared that I may have introduced something into my body that I shouldn't have. I actually feel pretty good aside from the neuropathy and I'm taking mangosteen juice along with L-Glutamine powder for that (which also seems to be helping me). I feel like I'll be badgering my doc. if I continue to call to ask what may be looked upon as stupid questions.

I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance.

for immune boosting there are better options.  AHCC, AveUltra, Coriolus mushrooms, Immpower.  you can research options, these are just some I use, but I think there are many others with the basic same properties.  For neuropathy, the glutamine is good (also for your immune system and gut) as well as other options.  you can research your supplements at lef.org.  they have good data and recommendations, but I don't think they sell AHCC or AveUltra, or Immpower.
