Hi Everybody

I'm 44 years old and never give birth. I had removed breast lumps - fibroadenomas lumps twice on Year 08 & Year 09. My latest ultrasound report as at Aug'09 are as follow:-

COMMENTS:

Biphasic study shows no clustered microcalcifications/growth

Patient has multiple cysts demonstrated in the breasts. There are 20 in the (R ) and 21 in the (L). Shaded are the complicated cysts with no echogenic nodules within. Two septated cysts are recorded at 4 o'clock (L) periareolar area.

Suggest an U/S examination for follow-up in 6 months' time after your clinical review.

Recently I encountered breast pain again around the areola area. I'm very worried do my cysts turn anything wrong.
My next ultrasound appointment is on early March so should I schedule for early appointment? Everyday I do drink one or two cup of coffee with milk or tea with milk. Should the pain due to caffeine intake?

Kindly advise and thank you in advance.

Lilian

Usually, decreasing caffeine intake (coffee, tea, and even chocolate) will help with fibrocystic breast  conditions (which sounds like what you have). My gyn said when multiple cysts are found, the more there are, the more highly likely  they are benign.

Years ago I frequently had cysts & many, many needle aspirations.  I was a big tea drinker. Drank tea all day long. I noticed a major decrease in the number of cysts I had when  I gave up caffeine products.
