Facial Nerve??

  Has anyone else had any problems with uncontrolled twitching and a numb feeling with their facial nerve?  Sometimes I get it around my right eye.  When I look in the mirror, I can see the nerve twitching and I feel the numbness off and on.  I have a friend who went through BC treatment about six months before me, and I know she had that issue and was told that Taxol caused it.  I just left her a message today about what they did for her, but I was curious as to whether anyone else experienced this and if I should do something about it.  It seems harmless for now....

My career was in a medical ophthalmology office. This is a common experience for people without cancer. The twitch is triggered by nerves that are part of the sympathetic nervous system. Anxiety is the usual cause.

Heaven knows, we have enough to be anxious about!

Anything that helps you relax would be comforting. Tincture of time helps.

I didn't have any numbness but certainly had the twitch while I was on Taxotere. Read somewhere (probably here) that it was a side effect.

omg I had this happen last week. My right eye or shall I say around it was twitching. It only lasted a day and it drove me nuts. I am on taxol.

I had the same exact thing, numbness and all. I talked to a couple doctors about it...and it ended up being plain old STRESS!!! Try to make some time for YOU! Relax and pamper yourself...

Yes, I thought stress could have something to do with it.  Thanks!  I'll keep an eye on it.  I read that middle aged women are most prone to this.  UGH.  Can't believe I'm middle-aged, but glad to be here!

Tincture of Time means just give it some time, give yourself some time to adjust and accept. :-)
