Large Inbetween Lump

Options

Right IDC, left profalatic, $25,000. alloderm, half moon implants.  Dbl mast 06/08, recon 09/08.  Went back to work and exercise 1 week/2months after.  Had issues in right mast side all the time.  Kept Lympho in check by exercise.  Kept having small pain issues on IDC side for about 6-9 months.  Last fall, had what I thought was broncitus, thought I was going to keel over.  The neck pain and left (profalatic side) was the worst.  It started early but by Sept, I thought that I was dieing (I really thought I had sever bronchitus).  It never went away.  The pain has been with me since Sept 09 on the left/profolactic side, and found a lumpish thing (golf ball size) between my implant and amrpit.  As much as i massage/squeeze the area I have no change.  My chest pain is 24/7.  Sometimes I am a 3/4 pain, sometimes a 7/8 pain, and a blue moon 10 pain.  I am not the person I used to be.  I left breast cancer after 1 month and started back at 5k's and 10k's.  Now I just consider myself lucky to make it to work then home to the couch.  So Here's the deal.  Went to the ' breast doctor'.  He feels something and sends me to my oncologist.  My Oncologist sets me up with blood, nucleaur bone scan, pet scan.  The breast doctor then sets me up with a upper neck T1, T2 neck/spinal scan, and then last of all I follow up with the "ole cat".  So I need to ask, If given all these test's from just visiting them and letting them feel my ' lumpish ' area, and being in cronic pain, would anyone here tell me they had the same thing?  I waited from 06/08 until 12/09 before addressing these issuses.  What do you say?  I appreciate any input from personal experience you can give me.  Thank you, Carol

    Carollyn,

First, I never had what you are describing, although I had Stage II cancer with implants.

The thing that is most favorable, in my opinion only, is that this "lump" is on the other side of the original cancer. Contra-lateral breast cancer does indeed occur, but given your time frame especially if on estrogen blockers, this would be mighty quick. Did they do a great evaluation of the opposite breast when you were first diagnosed? Are you on any hormonal therapy due to your ER+ status?

Too bad your surgeon didn't biopsy the lump right there in the office, or arrange for an ultrasound biopsy. Yes, there are looking around with all the tests. I hope you have some answers soon.

Maybe someone else can add to your question. I hope all turns out ok and that you'll post as you wish for comfort.

    Tender
