Looking for Toronto Oncologist and Breast Surgeon
I'm Canadian and have been living in New York City for 13 years, I've decided to move back to Toronto and I am looking for a great Oncologist and Breast Surgeon, can anyone recommend one?
Thanks

I can recommend my surgeon, Dr. McCready at Princess Margaret. If you call the main number, his secretary is Fe (pronounced Fay). He is highly regarded in Canada and I found him upbeat, professional and not doom/gloom.

Thanks Let-It-Be, is his first name David? Is he a breast surgeon and oncologist? Currently I do follow-up visits with a breast surgeon and an oncologist. Do you see only him or another doctor?

I will be having breast reconstruction with Dr. Zhong at PMH who I've heard is very very good. Sunnybrook is supposed to have a top notch cancer centre and oncologists. Your family doctor can send in a referral.

Hi, yes he is David McCready. In Canada though so far I now only correspond with my oncologist. Dr. McCready was done when I had my post surgery (mastectomy) visit. He is a surgical oncologist, but he is so busy, all follow ups are done with your oncologist. I have heard great things about Dr. Zhong (for recon). I saw Dr. Hofer for a preliminary appt. for recon.
I had my surgery in Toronto, but since I'm in Oakville, I went to Juravinski Clinic in Hamilton to see an onc... Dr. Dhesy. KerryMac on the Stage 3 boards sees an onc in Toronto, maybe you could pm her for the name...
edited to make more sense, I hope!
Diagnosis: 1/7/2009, IDC, 6cm+, Stage IIIa, Grade 2, 7/10 nodes, ER+/PR+, HER2- -
Yes, try to get Dr. McCready if possible
He is the best!
I also attended at PMH
for all TX
Best to you on this!
You have to try.. you might get lucky
and get him.

Dr. Jamie Escallon is a great Breast Surgeon out of Womens College and Princess Margaret

At the Sunnybrook Cancer Centre, there is a great breast surgeon - her name is Dr. Clair Holloway and she is amazing and a very nice person. The medical oncologist I see there is Dr. Andrea Eisen and the rad onc is Dr. Eileen Rakovitch ... both are great docs and up to date on the latest. As far as recon goes, it depends on what procedure you want. I expect to have Dr. Zhong for a DIEP.
