13 days into radiation and I feel dizzy/lightheaded
I am done 13 radiation treatments so far. Since day 4 I have felt a dizzy/lightheadness after my treatment. It lasts for about a hour. I feel foggy and if I move to fast it really brings it on. I go to work after my treatment and my boss is worried that I am going to pass out on a patient. Does anyone else have this probelm. My rad onc just dismissed it saying he doesn't know why I feel this way. Oh thats right he said I might have anxiety. Why do all docs think it in our heads. Getting fed up.

I have no advice as I am waiting on my surgery but just wanted to send good thoughts. I hope you can get some answers soon. Being 'dismissed' is horrible and very demeaning. You feel what you feel. Do you have another doc you could call. Hope you are feeling better soon. ..sorry I couldn't help.

I just had my first week of radiation with five more to follow. Yesterday when I left the treatment center to walk to my car, I became very dizzy. I came home and went directly to bed, thinking maybe I was anxious or had a sinus infection. I woke up dizzy and this morning I am still dizzy. This is obviously a side effect of the radiation which needs to be addressed. I will see my doctor on Monday and let you know what she says...I do not want to go through the next five weeks with my head spinning! Keep the faith...sounds like you doctor is insensitive.

I just completed 2 weeks of radiation and also started feeling dizzy, even this morning I'm in a fog. I never even thought it could be the treatments, I was thinking it was a side effect from one of the drugs I've been taking. I need to also ask my doctor. I'm almost positive I'll get the same response, not the radiation. Will see.

I've had five radiation treatments - the first three I was dizzy. I increased my water intake, wore 'sea bands' on both wrists and I experienced no dizzy spells for the next two treatments. I drink 48 ounces of water in the a.m. before treatment and 48 ounces in the p.m. after treatment and I feel much better. For one treatment I even took a dramimine but the doctor of course, does not want me to do that. Try the water and 'sea bands' (buy at any drug store) - I hope this helps.

i completed radiation 2 months ago and complained during the entire time that i felt dizzy and lightheaded. I too was told stress, anxiety and the nurse told me it could be vertigo and when i got up off the table i should go slowly. I realize now that i actually feel better...that i really was lightheaded and in a fog during the entire treatment process. I feel so much better now and only wish that the rad onc aknowledgede what i was feeling as real and not imagined!! Also i felt my worst after the treatments were over. I was most exhausted and dragging for a week or two after..Another woman i met in the hospital told me what to expect and it was very helpful. The Dr never mentioned it
My advice..try to take extra care of yourself and give yourself a break when you can...sending good wishes
