Post chemo fragile hair?

Hi all, just curious as to whether anyone else has run into difficulties post chemo with your hair being extremely fragile.  I'm a few years out and have tried high lighting twice, and both times it's triggered a 3-month period of extreme shedding.  The first time around I blamed it on just being too close to finishing chemo and thought giving it a several year break would be ok.  But w/in days of high lighting, the crazy shedding/breaking started again.  Anyone else run into difficulties after high-lighting/coloring?  And, yes, I've learned my lesson - once things have settled down and grown back, I am NOT touching it again!  Having had absolutely no hair I know it grows back, and in the grand scheme of things this is a "nothing" issue, but it is annoying as all get out to be going through this once again several years post chemo.  Anyone run into similar troubles?

My chemo finished in April 2009, and I am fighting the frizzies really bad! My hair pre chemo was smooth and slightly oily.Now it's dry and fly away.
