Connection between tamox & ovarian cancer

Hi People,

I had this persistent pain below my right side abdomen before I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. 3 Ultra sound results had said it was benigh ovarian cyst but the pain comes and goes away. Now the pain has started again and knowing that there's a connection between taking tamox and uterus cancer, I'm wondering whether I should go for another scan to check this ovarian cyst again.

Can anyone share their experience with me please? Thanks and God bless.

there is a risk of uterine cancer (endometrial) with tamoxifen use (but it is very low, less than 1%), but not ovarian cancer. I had large ovarian cysts which ruptured while on tamox, but my gyn said the tamox didn't cause it. But they may have found my cysts much earlier if they had been monitoring me with US. If you're still having problems,I would request another transvaginal ultrasound; it can monitor both the ovaries and the uterine lining.
