Reasonable Length of Time for Oncotype results?

I am currently waiting for the results of my Oncotype DX test. My oncologist told me it would take 2-3 weeks for results. However, when the company that actually does the test called me about my insurance, they said it takes 7-10 days. It has been 3 weeks today since my oncologist ordered the test and no results yet.

I'm mentally ready(I think) to start the next step of my treatment, whether it be chemo or not, and starting to get a little paranoid that this waiting will make a difference in my long term prognosis.

I guess I'm just going a little nuts with the waiting. What are others' experiences with this? How long did it take to get your results?

Mary-- Checked my calendar from 08 and it looks like mine took between 10 days and  two weeks. Have you called the company that does the testing?  Good luck with getting your results soon.

    Best wishes and hugs,

Thanks Pat. I took your advice and called the company that does the testing. They told me they had faxed the results to my doctor last week, but would re-fax. The doctor's office just called me and told me I have a low oncotype score of 11! I have an appointment on Wednesday to talk it over, but it looks like no chemo for me!!!!!

Mary- Great news!!!!!!!! Bet you feel so much better than you did earlier today........ I found the waiting to be such a roller coaster ride of emotions.
