People can be so insinsitive. Let me give you a much needed laugh. I work at a credi union and this one old man with absolutly no manners(or teeth for that matter) was constantly commenting on my hair..(this was a year ago when I was going through chemo and had no hair.) One day it was " it's a different color"(I wore a couple of different wigs and cut one short ) the next day another comment... well I was sick of them. Anyway one day he said to the other teller "boy the next time I come in here shes going to be bald.") Well that was it. I looked at my co workers(they even ran in the other room to grab my manager as they knew what I was going to do. ) Then I grabbed my wig and pulled it off. And there I was in all my glory bald as a baby!!!! I'm here to tell you he was absolutly speechless!!!! He couldnt think of a darn thing to say and my co workers, I about had to pick them up off the floor they were laughing so hard. So hang in there . Your hair will grow back soon enough. My hair looks great now,and that member, he never says one Word about my hair anymore!!! and you know what? I'm serious, if I had to do all over again I would always go bald!!!!

Teresa,
Thanks for that great story!

hey there...I know we've never met so I may be way out of line but I can 100 percent understand your sting! It is what is is and for the most part we deal very well, but then you get that one person who has either been sheltered all his life( shame on his parents for not teaching about the real world) ir is just truly an insensitive idiot which in most cases probably explains him being single!!!! whatever the case, the comments are hard to digest sometimes. Just keep smiling because the strength and faith we have far overpowers any childish comment, Hey, we're happy to have short hair...huh? well truth be told we are just excited to have any hair. Keep your chin up

Teresa.. (1RockerMom) - that was a great story.. good for you. I wish I could have been there.
my friend has gone thru treatment. She is a tall statuesque blond and bought a wig to match her pageboy which she wore while she was teaching music. Her younger students thought they had a new teacher and thought the school was trying to fool them when she appeared in a super short grey hair cut after Christmas.

I'm really getting some good laughs........... while it may not be funny at the time, reading the stories after the fact are funny. With that said, I finally told my co-worker who sits next to me what happened and we both just started laughing - for some reason it's funny now.
Once nice thing that happened yesterday - I was up in another department and someone looked over and said "I just have to ask", "who has been doing your eyebrows and I thought you said they fell out". I told her they had fallen out - I then told her I was still drawing on my face daily, eyebrows and liner along the lash line. Something nice to balance out the bad.
