Big deal.
Well, its a big deal to me anyway. I have to back track a little, I haven't been able to wear my wedding ring for over 2 years now. The last time I put it on they thought they were going to have to cut it off. I said you will not cut it off, they said its just metal and a rock. I said maybe its not a big deal to you but me and that ring have been together for over 26 years. Yes, its a very small diamond but my husband who was only 19 when we married, put that on my finger and I wont let you cut it off. I have changed my babies diapers with that ring on, and we held my mothers hand when she went home to the Lord. You already took my breast but you will not take my ring without a fight. So ask yourself are you feeling lucky punk, because you aint taking this ring with out a fight.
OK, fast forward to last night, I put it back on for the first time since we pried it off my finger 2 years ago, and it hasn't swelled yet. Like I said its a tiny ring but its mine and hidden inside it are 28 years of marriage, love sweat and tears. We have been through a lot together and it feels good to have her back where she belongs on my left hand.
OH and BTW I passed the entrance exam to get into the STNA Program, I start school on Feb 10th.

Diana ~ It is a wonderful big deal. So happy for you. That's how I feel about my ring too.
-
Thank you Shanagirl, I know it may sound silly but I feel a little more like me now.

It's huge. Wonderful news!
Good for you on the entrance exam too!

I hear ya' with the ring - the original ring means the most. Congrats on the entrance exam!

It is a big deal and I am happy you are happy.
Funny story - well maybe not - my husband works in a factory so he never wore his wedding band which I understood but then several years ago he was doing more management than actual factory work so he started wearing a wedding band. He then broke his finger and couldnt wear it anymore - I bought him a bigger ring (the biggest they had) but that too wont fit because his knuckle was too big now. So long story short, he wears it on the other hand.
anyway - congrats!

Can you get your ring resized? Or wear it on the other hand?

Diana,
Great post. I'm a schmuck compared to you. I was so concerned about getting LE that I've rarely worn my ring since starting this journey. My DH doesn't wear his either. Your post reminds me of all the things we have to deal with that most people don't think about.
Good for you that you can wear it again!
Hugs
Bobbie
