Round 4 DONE!
Good morning ladies and thank you again for the warm welcome and words of advice.
So I went in yesterday for round 4 of the AC and it almost didn't happen again---not because of mouth sores, but my BP was very low. So they gave me a bag of fluids, spoke w/my doc and they decided to go ahead, and with the full dose. SOOO, I'm of course glad to have it done, but of course am concerned about the side effects to come. I'll be prophylacticly trying to stave off the mouth sores with various things so that and the usual insomnia I get around day 4 are the worst things, plus various other issues.
BUT, I am thrilled to say I AM DONE WITH THE A/C!!! I sure hope I never have to have that again. On to the Taxol in 2 weeks.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Love,
Sharon

pupfoster ~ That's great. I really suffered more with the Taxol. But everyone is different. You'll do this. Oh by the way, your name is cute. Are you a foster for rescue dogs? Just curious.

Woohoo - good for you! I just started Taxol yesterday, and so far it has been MUCH better than AC. Hopefully that will continue to be the case and we'll both cruise through! Keeping fingers crossed for both of us!

Yah....on the homeward stretch now!!

HI Barb,
I am a foster for a good friend who has her own rescue. I have probaly fostered about 50 dogs/mostly pups in the last 10 years or so. My craziest group was a litter of 9 8 week old Great Dane pups! And out beautiful pure bred black Lab Molly was one of our fosters. Her original owners paid big bucks to a breeder for her as a Xmas gift, then come February they were tired of her. We've had her now for 9 years and couldn't love her more. Do you work in rescue???

Oh and thanks to everyone else for the congrats! Sounds like a couple of us are in the same spot right now. I had'nt heard of Biotene products, but I'll check them out. A few ladies on the Yahoo site had recommend Crest Pro Health toothpaste and mouthwash which I've been using. I'll definitely look into the Biotene too. Thanks!

Women who have finished AC are troopers. You are now among our ranks. I'm glad you are that much closer to being finished with treatment. Give Molly a big hug from me; I love big dogs. G.
