Daughters between 18 and 30?

Options

Hi, all,

I wanted to post this study announcement, because it promises to make our health-care professionals (and us!) more aware of the needs of our grown daughters as we go through this bc experience. It's a phone interview survey of young women who are the daughters of women diagnosed with bc. I was diagnosed 8 years ago, and there was nothing at my cancer center for my young-adult gals. Lots for spouses or young kids, but this very vulnerable age group was on their own to flop their way through the fear and confusion. I'd like to see their needs met, so I'm encouraging Sisters with daughters in this age group to check it out. Details below.

Thanks!

Amanda Ginter, a graduate research assistant to Dr. Elise Radina from Miami University, is conducting a new study which looks at the adult daughters of breast cancer patients. She is looking for women between the ages of 18 and 30 whose biological mothers were diagnosed with breast cancer in the last seven years.

Participants will take part in one-time face-to-face or telephone interviews with her in which they will discuss topics relating to their mothers' breast cancer experiences, family relationships, intimate relationships, and health concerns. These interviews will probably last 45-60 minutes.

Participants will receive a $10 Starbucks gift card for their time.

If you or someone you know is interested, please contact Amanda at ginterac@muohio.edu or at (513) 687-7258.

Thank you.
(This study has been approved by the Miami University Institutional Review Board [09-099])
