Cat's Claw?

I was curious if anyone here has ever heard of this herb? My mother ordered this powder from this place called Rain Tree. She was diagnosed with breast cancer September '09, it wasn't even a stage 1. Now she has been diagnosed again but in the other breast, we're not sure what the stage is yet. She ordered this as a powder to make as a tea or drink. Do you think it could help or is it wishful thinking?

People in Peru and South America swear by it for different things (it's called Una de Gato), whether or not a dried powder would work the same as the bark from the actual tree is up for debate I suppose.....

Unfortunately it looks like there is no clinical evidence to support any benefit of cat's claw in cancer treatment and does have some potential adverse reactions and drug interactions, so please research carefully.

The only thing I have ever heard about cat's claw is that it is good to take if you have a cold.   Tami
