Blurred Vision??
I noticed when I was on A/C and Taxol that my vision would be blurry at times. It seemed to be worse when I was tired or in the evenings and got better the farther out I got from treatment so I never worried too much about it. I started Tykerb/Xeloda about a month ago and have, in the last few weeks, noticed the blurry vision again. I don't have any floaters, wavy lines, or spots and I had always thought it was blurry in both eyes. Tonight I noticed it is really just in my right eye. Now I am freaking out that I may have mets in my right eye.
Anyone else experience this with chemo and notice a difference between vision in your two eyes?
Thanks!

This morning the blurry vision is MUCH better but when testing one eye at a time I still notice a difference between the two eyes. Hmmmm, possibly too much cimputer time?? I plan to get some preservative-free tears today and see if that helps.

Blurry vision during chemo is usually the drying of the eyes. Light hits the eye and refracts differently on one part of the lens compared to the other because of the dryness. I had it and found that the tears did well. Just make sure it does NOT contain a "red eye" remover. That is counterproductive to what you need, more moisture. My opthomalogist suggested the tears 6 times a day. After a few days, I was able to cut down to 3x.
Good luck.

I to had this and went to the eye dr. he checked everything and all was ok but he did say that chemo can affect your vision and cause it to blur. Hope you get better soon.

Thank you for your responses! It seems my vision in the right eye is getting worse each day this week. I did buy some preservative-free tears so hopefully that will help. I would feel better that it was a chemo side effect if it was both eyes, but I wouldn't be able to see at all if that was the case! Ugh.

Lori, please get this checked. We are suceptable to so many things while in chemo. I had TC chemo combo. I had my right eye go "blurry" but it was like I almost had a "palsy" or nerve problem in my my eye. It felt as if it was not working quite right. But I had a tough chemo (long story). It took several days for my eye to clear up. SV
