American Idol Season 9 started this month. Last year is was great  to talk about season 8 as it progressed. So who is with me this season?

I'm watching.....Love the fact that Ellen is joining the judges, hate the fact that Simon is leaving after this season...No favs yet!!!..

 I am really sad that Simon is leaving, too! Can't imagine AI without him. Also like Ellen joining. I liked the guest judges the last two weeks.

I'm In. Never miss a show, although sometimes I have to Dvr it and watch it later but it's nice to fast-forward through all them commercials. I can't beleive that Simon is leavingeither - who will cause all the Drama?

Thank You Patty for the thread, I was thinking about it myself.

I am addicted to that show since it started I never missed an episode and I vote every week.

Last year I wasn't very happy with the show. I hope this year will be a better one.

I think the season that they had both David's at the end was the best.

I AM IN.   When I saw the thread AI I really got excited.

I especially loved the song the guy sang "pants on the ground, pants on the ground, why you always walking round with your pants on the ground, it cracked me up, i think he;s going to be another hung LOL although he was to old to be in idol he was funny

That is so funny because my husband came home last night singing that song through out the house. They have played it the last couple of mornings here on the radio. Simon said he had a feeling we would hear more of that song.

I think it's strange that they are not showing many auditions this year....I wish they would show more legitimate singers than all the crazy ones, in my opinion they should not have even gotten to the audition stage....Exp: What was up with the guy with the round mirrors and feathers pasted on his face??..'

How about the guy who robbed the bank at age 15 with a bb gun, I think it's good that he is trying to help his parents heal from all the pain that he caused....I liked his voice....

I'm so in...been watching since season one.  I usually don't get obsessed until Hollywood week, what would we do without Tivo?  I'm watching last nights right now...

Count me in - American Idol Junkie here!  I absolutely love the show and never miss it.

I'm sad that Simon is leaving too.  Whoever is going to take his place, has big shoes to fill!

I say Robert Downy Jr...(he would never do it, but I think he would work for me)....

hmmm....somanywomen, good question.I can't think of anybody who would be as good as Simon as predicting when someone will make it big. He really has a talent for seeing that. I think that's why we all want to know what he has to say even if we don't always agree with it. Gonna miss him!

Yeah, really, his shoes will be hard to fill....I usually always agree with him...so many of those want-to-be-idols need a reality check!!!!!...

I think that other British guy Piers (can't remember his last name), he also does Americas Got Talent would be pretty good.  He can tell it as it is..  But I did hear that they were considering Sir Elton John!!??

Kim, Debbie, I think I heard that about Elton John, but he seems much too sweet fto fill Simon's shoes....The person will have to be abruptly honest!!!!

debbie, name is familiar...I have lived here since the late 70's.....I can asure you with as small area as this is that we have probably crossed paths..Does she have kids, my son graduated high school last year...

I love American Idol, but my hubby doesn't, so I have to catch as much of it as I can before he makes me turn it off... .  I'll have to get part of my fix here, thanks for starting this thread!

Yay! Can't wait for next week....Hollywood Week. And Ellen will be there.Finally get to see how she will fit in. I always want the audition part of American Idol over so that we can start finding our favorites for the season. So far I really can't think of any contestants that stand out.

haven't seen that many that really stand out yet. Can't wait for next week----Ellen is coming! I think she'll be hilarious--probably will get up and dance with the contestants!

Nobody really stood out for me either.  I'm curious to see how Ellen is going to "fit" in with the other judges.

Just read there is a rumor that they are in talks with Howard Stern to replace Simon at the end of the season. In one way he would be great as far as not being afraid to speak his mind and arguing with the other judges. But he does not have the music background to be an expert in what would make it in the music industry. Guess we will have to see how this plays out and if there is any truth to this.

The top 24 are looking pretty good---I think Katy Stevens will be a front runner.

Missed Tuesday's show and only a little of the first part of Thursday's. It is looking like the girls may be really stong this season. Can't wait until next week!
