Anechoic mass ???

A recent ultrasound found a 4mm "nearly anechoic mass" which was needle aspirated. The mass , collasped & was found to be a cyst. Not enough fluid to be tested. Rated BIRADS 2 BENIGN FINDINGS.  Does anyone know what does anechoic means?

anechoic---neither having nor producing echoes. I don't know what that really means, but if it was found to be a cyst which collapsed when aspirated, that's good news! Birads 2 is benign, so very good news!

I believe this term refers to a cyst that is fluid filled, a solid mass will return the US, or echoic waves.
