I'm New Here :)
Hello, this website was recommended by a girl that I know of from another website. I can't believer there is another girl on here in my same situation! Apparently she is in labor right now, though:)
I found a lump on my baby girl's birthday (May 15, '09), found out I was pregnant one week later, had a lumpectomy at the end of May and found it was IDC Breast cancer on 6-3-09. I got a bilateral mastectomy when I was 11 wks pregnant, then started my 12 wks of chemo (4 rounds of Adriamycin/Cytoxan with 3 wks in between) while I was 18 weeks. I am now 37 1/2 wks pregnant. I, like Pure, want to go into labor naturally. I feel like I just want to give him all the time he needs to grow and develop in there. I'm due the 26th, but my doctor said if I don't go into labor by myself by the 28th he will induce:/ My first baby was induced 6 days early and my body had no signs of being ready - so I have no idea when I would have naturally gone into labor to give me an indication of what I should expect with this one. So, that's my little story! I just wanted to share because I'm excited to have found a website with a much wider spectrum of women than the other website I have been on!

Billy,
Welcome.....I'm so sorry that you are going through two tough journeys at the same time, but you couldn't find a better group of women with which to share the journey. I'm so thankful that Pure brought you here. We are all so thrilled that her baby is coming anytime now, and now we have another little guy to root for!!!!!!!!!!!!Yeah!!!!!!!!!! I have met so many amazing women here, and you will too. How we manage to carry our burdens and keep going with wisdom and a sense of humor is beyond me....BTW, my twin sister's name is Billie. Love your name!

Billy....sorry that you had to join this club, but glad you found us....Be sure to let us know when your baby arrives.....always love to hear good news...
-
Correction-I have not gone into labour yet:) LOL I have had serious labor for 1- 2 hours each day since I think thursday. I had chemo last week and I swear it set this off. I am technically due the 25th so were due just about the same time.
I had a bit diff treatment then you I had andrimycin, cytoxin, and 5fu once a week for every 2 weeks then 3 weeks off. I have done 9 treatments (half each week) and I really need to start my next part of treatment. I am suppose to be induced Monday and I don't want to do it if he going to come on his own-it's a hard decision but every pregnant girl I talked with that had BC had her baby at 34 weeks (induced) and had big babies due to the steroid they took.
So anyway welcome- it sounds like your stage 1? So no more treatment for you after baby-that's great! I would sit back and let your baby come. I am just feeling th epressure of more treatment.:)
But as far as your babys health-every baby followed in the MD Anderson study show no issues except one baby had downs but not related to treatment.
-
Scratch that-I just reread your stats and saw your PM. I didn't realize you were same stage so I assuming your doing more chemo or?
I will PM you my phone number or send me yours. I will give you a call today if you like.
-
Billy - welcome to you! Sounds like you have had a tough year. Glad you have found us though - keep us updated.
Jen - I have been thinking about you so much!! So, no baby yet.....you must be so ready. Fingers crossed (or legs uncrossed!) he makes his arrival today.
-
So glad you found us! And glad you found Pure -- she has a lot of thoughtful posts and comments. Congratulations for making it to the 37 week mark. I'm at a loss for words to tell you how much I admire the strength you have to deal with both pregnancy and bc...
Do you have a name yet? Boy or girl?
-
Welcome, Billy! Another baby for us to coo over!!
-
Billy - Glad you found us.
Jen - I have anxiously been looking for a birth announcement from you as I wasn't finding any posts from you. (you were trying to take a break though, I realize) I am just excited to hear baby news.
-
No baby news yet but today I feel horrible-I am hoping thats a sign. I have been in bed all day and can't get comfortable.
-
Billy - sorry for the circumstances, but welcome. You will find a lot of support here.
Jen- I've been thinking about you............I'm sorry you feel bad, hopefully the baby will come soon.
-
Billynda, Welcome. You have quite a story to share. You have gone through so much already. We will be here watching and waiting for news from you and for the chance to greet this new baby boy.
-
Billy and Pure......you are just the light at the end of the tunnel for me. It's so nice to hear some good news in the form of a beautiful baby. Keep us posted and prepare to share lots of pictures if you're comfortable with it.
Best wishes.

Wow, it was really great to read all your responses! I'm officially in love with this new website, and feel unloyal to my first one:) Anyways, PURE - at least your body is doing SOMETHING!!! I will get checked by the doc tomorrow to see if my body's effacing/dialating, anything. I haven't been able to talk to any other women that were pg while they had cancer, so you and your information are such a breath of fresh air for me! At first, my OB said he wanted me to get induced at 38 wks if the baby's lungs were ready (so I'd have to do an amnio), but I really do not want to! I could go on and on. I would love to talk to you. I will give you my number if you haven't sent yours yet, I will check in a min. Anyways yes, after baby Clint Warren Jr. (we're going to call him Buddy) is born, I will be doing 4 Taxols 3 weeks apart and 6 weeks of rads. I'm going to City of Hope out here in CA which I think is kind of the equivalent to MD Anderson in NC - cutting edge tech and all that:) I was having a hard time editing all my info. last night, my pc was being SLOOOOOOOOOW so I'll try again right now!
-
Billy, your avatar is so touching.
-
Waiting in anticipation to hear the news!!! I haven't posted before but have been following your progress!!! (((((((((((((Billy))))))))))))) ((((((((((((((Pure)))))))))))))
-
Billy and Pure - So exicting - TWO Baby Boys on the way!!! We are all here for you and waiting for news!!! I'm so glad you found each other!!
-
Billy - keep us updated with the baby and love your picture - it's beautiful!
-
Welcome Billy, I love your avatar as well! Beautiful.
Well, this is extraordinary isn't it?? TWO BABIES on the way! Two little miracles. How awesome is that?
Sending you both great delivery vibes!
-
Thanks everyone! I just came home from the OB and I have had no progress:( He said he wants to induce the 21st, I don't want to so he said he'd give me til the 28th if I don't go by myself!
-
Welcome Billy, congratulations on the upcoming birth, January is a very good month to have a baby in I think. During our cold long days of winter, a new life just brightens up the winter
-
Diana is right - both my are winter babies (well, Dec and Nov) and the timing is great - you have the baby stage over the cold months, then when they are starting to crawl and stuff, it is Spring!
-
Billy Welcome Welcome! I truely hate that you are here. Does your little guy have a name yet? Prayers for you and baby boy.
Much love Deb
-
(((((((Billy))))))) (((((((Pure))))))) I'm thinking of you both! xoxo Jessica
-
Welcome Billy. Brill that you found BCO and PURE!
You sound in charge, you are not letting the docs tell you when to induce etc, you know your body and you must feel right about what you decide. That self assurance will help you along this unbeleivable year ahead. We will all be very happy to celebrate your little bundle of love coming into your arms really soon.
I hope you are well surounded and have lots of helpers ready to get in there and be practical to help you enjoy your little munchkin whilst you brave your treatement.
hug

Congrats, I was 6 weeks out from delivery when I was diagnosed with IDC. I am so excited for you and pure. Good luck to you!
I had a boy as well!
-
Well, I have one Spring baby which was good for pregnancy - not too hot, but way too small to enjoy Summer. So, this will be nice having a Winter baby this time around:) They will both be big enough for Summer this year, and if all goes smoothly I should be finishing up treatment by then, too! I, fortunately, have a wonderful OB who lets me know what he thinks but doesn't pressure me itno making decisions:) I had seen a dr. one week before him that told me everything was fine and if it wasn't for him who knows what would have happened! Allison - isn't that weird - I had just quit nursing my girl 6 wks. prior to finding out my dx. Risk factors don't mean crap!!! And yes, I do have SOOOOO much support. I am truly blessed in that way! Whatever I need my family and friends have been right there, almost to the point of annoyance!!! They are great because sometimes I'm too stubborn to ask, and they know me all to well:)
-
Billy - Love your avatar as well! I'm so glad you found this wonderful group. I loved having a winter baby (will be 5 in a couple weeks) - just big enough to enjoy spring and summer and I didn't have to be huge in the SC heat.
-
Thank u Kimber. I live in the Mojave Desert in CA, so I know what you mean about heat!!! So far, still not feeling anything:/ Just a Braxton Hicks here and there, that's about it!
-
i would love to see your avatar picture full size Billy.. it looks like an award winning photo.
how are you feeling?
-

I just wanted to check in on you and see how you are feeling.
